Brenda Thomson received her BSc Hon. Zool. 1978 and her DDS from the University of Western Ontario in 1984.

She purchased a small, two-operatory dental office in 1985, where she ran a dental practice for over three decades. Brenda was very proud of this general family dental clinic, which blossomed to six operatories with fabulous staff and patients. During these years, she became deeply involved in organized dentistry, serving as president of the Women’s Dental Association of Ontario on two occasions, president of the largest component society in Ontario, and a member of several Ontario Dental Association committees. Brenda is also the recipient of multiple awards, including the 2016 Alumni of Distinction Award from her alma mater. She is a fellow of the AGD, ICD, and PFA.

In 2018, Brenda became the ACD Ontario section chair and was elected in 2023 as Ontario’s first ACD Regent for Regency 4. The latter encompasses MI, IN, WV, KY, OH, and Ontario. Brenda is honored to serve on the ACD Board of Regents and the ACD Finance Committee. In November 2024, Brenda became the College’s Chair of Communications.
